Historic Charm with a Few Growing Pains I recently stayed at Hotel Skyler and found it to be a beautifully unique property that stands out in the Syracuse area. If you’re looking for a cookie cutter stay, this isn’t it, and that’s mostly a good thing. The aesthetic of the hotel is fantastic. My room felt wonderfully nostalgic, striking a perfect balance of classic elegance and historic character. It feels high end and thoughtful in its design. However, it’s worth noting that the architectural quirks of the building can be a double-edged sword. My room featured small, elevated windows that offered no real view, making the space feel a bit more enclosed than I expected. While the property is stunning, there were two areas that impacted the stay: * The building’s acoustics are quite "live." I could hear doors closing and heavy footsteps in the hallways throughout the night, so light sleepers might want to bring a pair of earplugs. * They have a great bar area with food and drinks available, but during my stay (which was a fully booked weekend), the staffing seemed stretched thin. They were doing their best, but the service struggled to keep up with the volume of guests. Despite these hiccups, Hotel Skyler is a lovely property with a personality you won't find anywhere else in the city. Now that I know the layout, I’d definitely give it another shot

Amazing location. Practically on campus. Very friendly staff. Rooms did their job. Could probably use an upgrade but I had no complaints about it, so definitely 5 stars!

This hotel was our first choice when visiting our son at Syracuse. Nice rooms and close to campus. There’s a patio behind the building that’s nice in warmer weather as well. I believe the building it’s in is a former temple - the architecture is interesting.

This hotel is really cute with a historic feel. We loved the spacious King Suite. We also loved the close proximity to Syracuse University.

The room was a nice size and clean. The shower was hot too. The room I was in on the second floor was interesting to locate as I had to go to the second floor, down the hallway past other rooms and a ramp before going down a few steps to my room and two others. The hotel is right near Syracuse University.

Fantastic experience. We stayed 4 nights. Hotel was quite and tranquil. Exactly what we needed to relax. Location is great, very close to downtown and with many restaurants within walking distance. They have made to order simple breakfast that we tried one day. It was good but nothing fancy. The staff was welcoming and friendly.

From start to finish, our stay was absolutely amazing! The entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, but a special shoutout goes to Selena at the front desk—her friendliness and genuine care set the tone for our whole visit. She made everything so easy and made us feel like VIPs. And Gary, thank you for the fun and smooth shuttle ride to our event—you truly went the extra mile (literally!). We’ve never been treated so nicely at a hotel before. The warmth, attention to detail, and kindness from everyone made it such a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!
